In Leimuiden I gave an open steel staircase with grating treads a complete makeover. The metal gratings felt cold and businesslike, and through the open treads you could see straight under the stairs.

I fitted made-to-measure wooden overlay treads and risers over the steel staircase, tread by tread from bottom to top. This turned the open staircase into a closed one, without having to remove the steel structure. Because I measure everything up myself, treads and risers fit tightly against the steel stringers and the wall.

The result is a staircase with a fresh, modern look, warm in colour and calm to the eye. So a staircase made of metal or concrete can be renovated too. I am happy to look at what suits your staircase during a free consultation.
