Why choose RenovaStairs?

What is it?

Laying PVC, herringbone and laminate floors

RenovaStairs lays PVC floors, rigid click PVC, laminate and wooden floors in places such as Amersfoort, Utrecht, Amsterdam and the Gooi region. A PVC floor is water resistant, easy to maintain and sound absorbing, and comes as a click floor or as glue-down dryback. You choose from straight planks, herringbone, wide herringbone, chevron or tile.

Rigid click PVC has a stable core of PVC and stone minerals, stays true when temperature and humidity change and can often be laid over an existing floor. Laminate comes in wood and stone designs, including herringbone laminate, and is scratch resistant and easy to clean. If you want real wood, choose engineered oak: an oak top layer on a plywood base that hardly shrinks or swells.

Because I also renovate staircases, you can often choose the same material for stairs and floor. They then flow seamlessly into each other and the whole hallway and living room fits together.

My approach

A level subfloor, a flawless floor

During the home visit I always assess your subfloor first. If it is not level enough, I advise levelling with a self-levelling compound, carried out by a specialist I work with. You receive a price indication in advance. The final amount follows after levelling, because only then is the exact layer thickness known.

Then I lay the floor myself, where possible running with the light. A pattern floor such as herringbone or chevron needs more cutting and precision than straight planks, so I take the time it deserves. I finish with skirting from Sfeerplinten for a clean line along the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Glue-down PVC, also called dryback, consists of thin, flexible strips glued directly onto the screed. Rigid click PVC has a hard core and a click joint, often with an integrated underlay. Click PVC bridges small irregularities, while glue-down PVC always needs a perfectly level subfloor.
For glue-down PVC always, because every irregularity shows through the thin material. For rigid click PVC it is often not needed, as the hard core bridges small irregularities and hairline cracks. During the home visit I assess your subfloor and tell you honestly what is needed.
Yes. Glue-down PVC conducts heat best of all floor types, and rigid click PVC is also well suited thanks to its stable core. Engineered oak can go on underfloor heating too, provided it is fully glued to the screed.
No. Herringbone and chevron need special left and right-hand strips with adapted dimensions. A herringbone floor is possible in glue-down PVC, rigid click PVC and laminate.
Yes. A pattern floor has to be measured out precisely and needs far more cutting than straight planks. I deliberately take my time, because with herringbone every deviation shows.
Engineered oak, also called a multi-layer wooden floor, has a solid top layer of real oak on a plywood base. Thanks to its cross-layered build it hardly reacts to temperature and humidity. You get the look of wood with less risk of shrinking or swelling.
